As "steamboatin'" vacations grew more and more popular, it became a wonderful necessity to add another steamboat to our line. Thus, the magnificent Mississippi Queen made its debut. Now, nearly a quarter of a century later, it is a well-established favorite with guests who love the authentic Victorian atmosphere and outgoing personality. Steamboaters particularly enjoy taking a dip in the bathing pool on the Sun Deck. Up there, too, is the calliope, and when the musician starts to play that old steam piano, inevitably a crowd will gather and start singing along. When the sun sets on the river, emanating from the Paddlewheel Lounge are the sweet notes of a banjo player strumming a beautiful river ballad.
