An Amazing wonderful first time cruise by
Derrick H from Millbrook Sailing date: Aug 2010Pros: We Love everything about the cruise from the beginning to the end including C circle for the child. Cons: The voyage was too short From a scale from 1 to 10 this ship deserve a 9. We enjoyed everything from the comfortable beds to the entertainment. Everynight there was something different, new and exciting to do. You cant go on others negatives because they may have had a bad experience you have to try the cruise for yourself as we learn down through the years you have to try things for yourself. The voyage was too short for us, we are planning right now for another cruise....... Love everything about the cruise. Ship Quality

  Expectations by
Bret P. from Dallas, TX Sailing date: Jul 2010Pros: The Excursions Cons: Nothing I enjoyed every aspect of the cruise, but I went with an open mind and humble expectations. Ship QualityThe ship was large enough to spread out 2500 vacationers and 700 staff members to where lines were minimal and movement was unobstructed. The decor was clean and comfortable. The inside areas were elegant and the outside was warm wood and clean white paint. Dining/FoodThe food for most meals was simple, 24 hour pizza, buffet style sandwiches, fruit, ice cream and drinks in Tiffany's. Dinners were varied, but lacked the amount of seafood desired, but there was always a good mix of other items. Stateroom QualityWe enjoyed our small, but adequate sized room. Well ventilated and cooled. The bathroom was comfortable with a standup shower, large sink and mirror. The bed was just two twins pushed together, but it served us well. Ship Staff QualityThey gave you every second of their attention and the stateroom was cleaned or picked up every time we left it. They went out of their way to make sure that we had what we need at the dinner table as well. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere was a schedule everyday that was filled with activities. We only had the stamina to keep up with a few of them, but everything from art gallery shows to basketball games to pro golf lessons to comedy shows to spa treatments and casinos.

Cozumel, MexicoDon't shop here unless this is the only place you can find it. The seafood is really great here, but Octopus is seasonal and it wasn't in season while we were there. The water is amazing and the fish, baracudas are beautiful.
Don't Miss: Don't miss the snorkeling or suba diving. They were the highlight of my enitre trip! Progreso (Merida), MexicoProgreso is the least expensive of the two ports we went to so get your souvenirs in Progreso. There is also some of the best seafood on the entire trip in Progreso.
Merida was a waste of time for me because we just didn't have enough time to sight see. If you go straight to Merida then you should have enough time, but the ruins really cut our time too short.
Don't Miss: Go to the Dzilbichun ruins and swim in the fresh water, spring fed pool. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Sergio B from Rosarito, Mexico Sailing date: Mar 2010Pros: everithing was great, food, drinks, installations but the greater was the service, its incredible. Cons: Rooms are quite small, but ok, due the restrictions of space in a boat. i was very impress about all the entertaiment for the passengeres during all the day, there is no time to be boring, my greater experience was the service in all the aspects, the people working in all the ship was incredible prepared to fulfill all the requirements for the passengers, its amazing, congratulations because this travel was one of my very best experience in all my travel experiences. A wonderful cruise! by
A Traveler from Lake Forest, CA Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: Maine Lobster at the Inpiration Dining Room, very deliciously prepared meals in the formal and buffet dining areas. Cons: Prefer a bit less salt if possible. The buffet dining tables need to be cleaned not just on top but on the edge also. The ship was clean, the room was roomy and clean (twice a day!), the food was very good, except the dining table in the buffet area need to be cleaned on the edge, the excursion was also good and informative. I would recommend this trip to friends and relatives. My mother commented on the way the ship was builit (very pretty design and colorful patterns) compared to other ships that were docked near our ship. My son had a great time mingled with kids his age in the Club C group. We all eat too much, the food was abundant !!! The food in the formal dining room was superb!!!. We did smell a little bit of cigaret and cigar smoke on Friday when we walked passed the casino area, but in other days of our stay, we did not smell any of that which is very good compared to other cruise that we have been in the past. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodPrefer less salt if possbile Stateroom QualityThe bed, comforter, pillows were so comfortable. We slept well like a baby. Plenty of towels to use in the bathroom. My son loves his bunkbed. The room and bathroom are clean. Ship Staff Quality

"The worst cruise I've ever been on!" by
A Traveler from Los Angeles, CA Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: Comedian shows were the best. Cons: Old ship (smelled like urine outside our cabin); Papas & Beer excursion was cancelled; rude Spa staff. The overall ship was in bad shape. Inside the cabins the drawers are falling apart. Outside the cabin, the carpet smelled like urine. Very unorganized disembarkation process (they kick you out of the room, tell you to go disembark and the chaos begins). The spa staff are rude. Food is too salty. Overall would never go on the Carnival Elation ever again. Ship QualityLayout of the ship is confusing. Floors don't align. Dining/FoodFood is too salty. The staff are nice and trying their best to accommodate. Stateroom QualityAverage room, the condition should be better -- some of the clothing drawers are falling apart. Ship Staff QualityDepending on the department -- Wait, room service staff, and stateroom stewart is friendly. Spa and shore excursion staff is rude. Entertainment & ActivitiesComedians are soooo funny. Best part of the cruise. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Simply Elated by
Scharry J. from Highland, CA Sailing date: Mar 2010Pros: The Cosmopolitan Crew Cons: Disembarking Procedure Upon boarding the "Elation" Friday evening I checked my voice mail. I learned that my offer on a 1/2 acre lot in East Highland Ranch, CA was accepted. The architecture of the "Elation" inspired me to design the home that I will build on the lot. The design w as complete by Saturday noon and includes a full height atrium inspired by the "Elation's" five story atrium. I am an unemployed CA registered Architect so the permit process and construction should move rather swiftly. The completed 3 story split level home will be christened "Elation, P.R.". This was my first cruise as a civilian. I did a 4 year gig in the USNavy. The whole experience was incredible as so much fun was compressed into a 3 day weekend cruise. I met people from every corner of the mundo. Bienvindos. Ship QualityI surveyed every accessable space of the ship and given a few hours, could draw a set of plans including a structural analysis. The area near the food serving area next to the pool could use additional rest room facilities for the gentlemen. Dining/FoodThe food was great and plentiful. What can I say, I gained ten pounds. The line dance performed by the serving crew will be remembered at my next party. Stateroom QualityOur cabin was comfortable. The life preserver locker however prevented easy access to the porthole window. Motif was early eighties and could be modernized with a few improvements and color change. Addition of LED lighting would save energy and add a cool but warm charisma. Ship Staff QualityOur Indonesian mater de should be commended. Service all over the ship was excellant. A special thaks to Kay from South Africa, Elena of Romania, and Monica of Motenegro. Entertainment & Activities24 hours a day something was happening. At 3am on Sunday while on my way to get coffee, I was dancing with a young lady outside the Drama Bar. I only wish we had more time to experience all of the available activities. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  As expected by
A. Caballero from Las Vegas, NV Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: Wonderful service and food Cons: Not enough onboard entertainment, not a cruise for couples only Our cruise was as expected nothing too fancy yet great food and service. Our dinner server was wonderful he made sure we were taken care off completely throughout our stay. Our room attendant was great our room was nice and neat and clean throughout the voyage. I don't feel there are enough activities to keep a couple entertained...it might be because we are from Vegas and gambling is just not something we want to do on our vacation. I also would not recommend this ship to couples traveling w/out children. There are too many on board and it can be a bit hectic and noisy to be around them. The excursions to Ensenada were bad. Our tour guide suggested a place to have lunch which was expensive and didn't have good service, and to add insult to injury the food was going bad to . Needless to say we weren't happy with it. The wine tour was also a disappointment. Only 1 winery was visited and didn't last more than 20mins it was almost as if they were rushing us out of there. The bathrooms had no toilet paper and were very dirty. On the Cabo Canopy Excursion with the zip lines I'd have to say this was a great activity, very high energy and requires pretty good physical condition in order to complete the obstacle course. Don't expect a great lunch, lunch available consisted of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (not freshly made), corn ships, salsa, and diced fruit. Water and lemonade were provided. Ship QualityThis ship is a bit worn and the decor is a bit outdated. But clean. Dining/FoodAbsolutely wonderful food, lots of choices....burgers at the lido deck were out of this world. Freshly made and fresh add ons. Stateroom QualityVery clean, but a bit small. Ship Staff QualityWonderful, friendly attentive staff throughout...a few of the Russian bartenders weren't very friendly or interested in service with a smile. Entertainment & ActivitiesIf I didn't live in Vegas and wasn't exposed so such a high standard of entertainment I'd say this is Good. But because I do I'd have to say it's just average. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  Had a Great Time by
Steve O. from Los Angeles CA Sailing date: Jan 2010Pros: Prices and value Cons: Did not like being accosted by street vendors in Mexico Overall we had a wonderful time on the Carnival Elation. This was my second cruise and I can't wait to do it again. The last cruise we did not get off the ship in Ensenada and wished we had not this time. We were approached several times a minute by beggers, street vendors, resturanter's etc. After about an hour of the non stop harassment, went back to the ship for some peace and quiet. The food and service on board the Elation were wonderful and with Priceline's help the price was great. Ship Quality
