Food Choices by Sandra from houston
Sailing date: May 2010

Pros:
The Spa Menu was wonderful. A low calorie, low fat choice that was very tasty. As a result, I lost three pounds. On a cruise, unbelieveable but it is true!

Cons:
Port: Nassau was a big disappointment. It is polluted with cars and expensive

The ship was wonderful. It was my best shp experience thus far. This made my fourth cruise.

Fog In Galveston.Waited 4 hours to board by Jo T. from Galveston,Texas
Sailing date: Dec 2009

Pros:
Staff were friendly and there was food 24-7 .Always activities to do.

Cons:
Fog kept us from leaving on time. Ship rocked a lot ! Security could have been better

Security was laxed at cruise ship terminal.I was really surprised about that. Ship rocked a lot during entire cruise. Gloomy ,foggy weather the whole trip except when we arrived in Cozumel,Mexico..Enjoyed the cruise activities. Food and room service was good. Staff friendly and attentive, but not so friendly on the last day.Rushing us off the ship.

Disappointing start! by John S from Moore, ok
Sailing date: Apr 2010

Pros:
The staff and cruise were very good.

Cons:
Everything was turned around due to the reverse schedule.

We were delayed due to fog, which could not be helped by Carnival. Then immigrations decided to process over 1,000 non-residents individually. We had to stand in line for over 10 hours. They finally brought some water out but carnival had no communications with us. We were just relying on rumors throughout the line. We miss one whole day of the cruise and were only refunded $15.00 to cover lunch. That was more of an insult to us. My husband is a diabetic and they had no concern for the passengers health or the hundreds of children out there. We were very disappointed with how carnival handled this situation. We could not get to our rooms until almost midnight. The excursions were very hard to book because they did not have them available on the cabin TV so we had to stand in another long line. The dining menus were not ever available on the cabin tv either. Overall, we were disappointed with carnival. This was our 3rd cruise with carnival conquest and this was really really bad. In addition, they did not have near as many activities and the entertainment staff was really bad this time.

Carnival Conquest ship / March 21, 2010 by Dwaine A. from Houston, Tx.
Sailing date: Mar 2010

Pros:
Very hard working staff to make the cruise more enjoyable

Cons:
Getting off and on the ship from the initial boarding to going through customs

The Carnival Conquest ship was very clean and well maintained. Our steward came to our room at least two times a day to make sure things were clean and orderly. He learned our names and was very polite and accomodating. Our waiter was also very nice and went out of his way to make our experience memorable. The food was excellent and there was a lot of choices to choose from.

Dining/Food
The quality of the food was excellent. There was always somewhere to get food any time of day. There were a few times where even though the food was under a heating light, the food was cold and we experiened some of the bread was hard and not heated but this was minor compared to the general meal.

Horrible experience on Carnival Conquest by A Traveler from AUSTIN, TEXAS
Sailing date: Dec 2009

Cons:
Cruise lines failed to warn us of the weather

I have been a very loyal customer of Royal Carribbean. I decided to try Carnival only because they sail to the Bahamas. The first day of the cruise we were unable to leave the Port of Galveston because of the heavy fog. I understand Carnival Conquest has no control over the fog. Our initial stops were to include Freeport and Nassau Bahamas as well as Key West. They cancelled our stop in Freeport and reduced our stop in Nassau Bahamas. Also, we only spent five hours in Key West. We were not able to dock in downtown Key West as planned and was routed to the Naval Base in Key West. Instead of being able to walk right off the boat into downtown we had to ride trams. The cruiselines instructed us at 11:00 a.m. that the overcast weather looked as if it would clear up by early afternoon. We departed the boat around 11:30 and rode the tram into downtown Key West. At approximately 12:30 we experienced excessive rain and tornado warnings. The stores downtown closed because of the rain and they placed sandbags around the perimiter of the store because of the heavy flooding. We were sitting on trams waiting to go back to the ship when the flooding waters began to rise and we were instructed by the driver to wade through the water and walk to higher ground. The water was approximately 3 feet deep. Cars were stalled out in the water and approximately 100 of us cruisers walked a couple of blocks through this muddy water to catch the tram on higher ground. Once we were on higher ground Carnival Conquest didn't have enough trams available. We were standing outside unprotected in the lightning, thunder and heavy rains while we waited on the transportation back to the Naval Base. I understand that the rain was not something the cruiselines had any control over; howevere, I feel like they should have warned us of the impending weather. They knew we were about to experience heavy rainfall, flooding and thunderstorms. They should have warned us and allowed us the opportunity to decide if we wanted to go to Key West or stay on the ship. My clothes are ruined from the dirty water we waded through and I now have a very bad cold from being soak and wet waiting on the transportation and wading through the water.

Disappointing Cruise by A Traveler from Dallas, TX
Sailing date: Dec 2009

Pros:
Food

Cons:
Service, Ship Staff

The staff on this ship did not speak nor understand English well. I fell on the ship on the Friday of the cruise due to water on the floor that had leaked from the ceiling. I was hurt and was treated like it was my fault. The medical staff were excellent, but Guest Services were rude and no help at all. Room Service was incapable of delivering what was ordered and the breakfast orders never arrived or arrived with the wrong items. Our cabin was very hot; we made numerous calls to Guest Services and were told that it was the temperature it was supposed to be and they sent up a fan which did not help at all.

Fantastic Cruise by Ronald B from Round Rock, TX
Sailing date: Oct 2009

Pros:
The Staff

Cons:
Last Day Had of and on rough sea

The staff was fantastic they anticipated your wishes before you could put them into wprds. Everyone I met was courteous and friendly. The maid service were sort of like ninjas they were very seldom seen but your room was always taken care of when you left your cabin. The waiiters we had at the 6 oclock time slot in the Renoire room , table 133 were fantastic, Yogi and his partner made it fun to go to dinner. The entire ship was kept spotless at all times. The entertainment for the most part was wonderful. I would recommend the Conquest for a cruise anytime..

A Big Disappointment by A Traveler from Midwest City, Ok
Sailing date: Oct 2009

Pros:
The Ship was clean, the room was nice

Cons:
The hassles, everything was a hassle

The food was good enough, but certainly not outstanding. The meals were a chore instead of a pleasure. The cost of the cruise was the least expensive part, the extras cost much more than the cruise. Do not be fooled by the all inclusive cost, becasuse that is not the case. The crew was O.K., but not great and had a hard time understanding English. Some were quite rude. Would I take another cruise? Probably not, and not Carnival. Just an overall unpleasant experience.
