Wonderful and relaxing cruise!! by
Emily P. from Memphis, TN Sailing date: Jul 2010Pros: We loved the food and the amount of time we were able to visit each port. Cons: The drink selling and the photo ops. The ship was always in excellent condition, and the staff was very friendly and helpful! We were especially impressed with the food in the dining rooms! Ship Quality

Stateroom QualitySince this was our first cruise, we were so excited to find that we were upgraded to a room with a window. We even saw Orca whales one morning out of our room. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesWe didn't do a whole lot besides trivia, but there was definitely a variety.

  Great cruise by
Pinky P. from Boston, MA Sailing date: May 2009Pros: The sites and great staff Cons: The food was ok The ship was great. It had many different activities that were fun. We were not that impressed with the entertainment. Mind you the comedians were great but the broadway shows were not spectacular. The staff was absolutely amazing. Our rooms were cleaned very well and the steward was very helpful. The head waiter was great to us, we were vegetarian so he arranged Indian-vegetarian meals for us a few times during the stay. However, the food was very similar. I would recommend the ship to others. One thing that surprised us the most was the age of the people onboard. The average age was probably over 60 with a few youngins in the mix. The sites we saw were amazing! We definately had enough time to enjoy each place we visited. So overalll I got to say the cruise was great! Ship QualityThey made sure everyone hand-sanitised thier hands before going into the dining rooms and buffets which made us feel safe. Dining/FoodConsidering this was a 4.5star boat I was expecting the food to be better. When you look at the menu it sounded delicious but tastwise it was OK. They definately need to add more vegetarian options, especially in the buffet. In the main dining room they were accomadating to us which was nice. One thing I found strange was while booking we were asked a whole bunch of things and we had told Princess that we were vegetarian. However, when we got there they didn't know that. I found that strange and annoying to be honest. Why ask questions if you're not going to follow through? Stateroom QualityWe had a balcony cabin and the room didn't feel that small. Mind you the washrooms were teeny but it's a boat so wouldn't expect more. But the size was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The condition of the room was great, there was not a scratch or dent to be found. We were placed at the back of the boat which turned out to be ok. One complaint is that we had agreed to being in the back of the boat because they had two cabins that were next to each where the doors would open. However, when we got there we realised that the doors didn't open so that was a bit dissappointing. Ship Staff QualityThey were great. The room steward was very helpful and considerate. The waiters were amazing, they never caused problems when we were honest about the food. The head waiter wwas very nice. He would show me the menu for the next day and ask if we wanted to eat off the menu or eat Indian-vegetarian so that was extremely considerate. Entertainment & ActivitiesThey didn't have that many activities but considering the average age on board was 60 it is understandable. It would have been nice if the golf simulator was free considering it was on the unique activities on the boat.
And like I said earlier we were pretty dissappointed in the nigh entertainment or so called broadway productions. We saw two and then we chose not to go back. I've been on another boat and the entertainment was a lot more varied. Thank goodness this boat had comedians on board because they were definately the highlight.
The entertainment hosted by the ship crew was a fun though. They had a show for newlyweds and survey/games as well which were enjoyable.

Juneau, AlaskaWe saw Mendallhall Glacier which was unique. The bus took us to the glacier and we walked around. Then went to the visitor center and saw a movie.
We took the gold mining tour which was fun too. We were taught about miners and went in a real mine. Then we to search for some gold. It was amusing.
Don't Miss: Both acitvities were great! Ketchikan, AlaskaWe chose to just walk around since there was nothing exciting to do. The excursions are super expensive so be aware and save money before going. There's mainly shopping and jewelery stores everywhere so unless you like doing that not worth it.
Skagway, AlaskaWe took the trainride to White Passage. It was fun to see the sites and the train was cool but sooo expensive! We got some great pics.

  Great First Cruise by
A Traveler from PENNSAUKEN NJ Sailing date: May 2008Pros: The service, the food, the activities and the excursions. Cons: Air Canada flight and connecting flight to Vancouver, Canada Our Princess Cruise was extremely well organized, from pickup at the airport in Vancouver to our departure at Anchorage airport. Princess employees were there every step of the way. Aboard ship, the employees were available to meet your every need, they were friendly and courteous. The food was excellent no matter where you chose to dine and activities were un-ending. There was something for everyone to do. The shore excursions were exactly as described. We saw whales as promised and the White Pass Railroad definately did not disappoint us; the Mendenhall glacier was very interesting as was Saxman Village. Glacier Bay and College Fjord were outstanding. We did, however, feel rushed at the salmon bakes (we went to two) and the meals were exactly the same. Overall, the trip itself was great. We did have one complaint and that was with Air Canada airlines. Our luggage was lost and the airport employees were very nonchalant and seemed not to care. We finally got our luggage two days later in Ketchikan. We were totally disappointed by Air Canada, one bag was so damaged that it will have to be replaced. Princess Cruises (who booked our flights) stayed in contact with Air Canada and kept us updated until our luggage was finally delivered. Other than that, we had a good time. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodNo matter where to went to eat, the quality and variety of the food was top-notch (that includes the pizza and the ice-cream. Stateroom QualityOur statement was nice, clean and comfortable. We were very close to the elevators and that was great. Ship Staff QualityOur steward went above and beyond his duties. We were very pleased. Entertainment & Activities
